Description

Looking for biostatistician with a MSc or PHD with 3+ years of experience in Saskatoon.  

High degree of technical competence and communicative ability, both oral and written.
Fundamental statistical inference methods, including loss-based estimation (e.g., regression, analysis of variance, and maximum likelihood estimation), hypothesis testing, and survival analysis.
Experience with various types of regression, such as logistic, ordinal, etc. is critical.
Descriptive statistics.
Sample-size estimation.
Creation of statistical analysis plans.
Preparation of statistical reports.
Comfortable working in with STATA, SAS, JMP, etc.
Algorithms and statistical computing.
Analysis of categorical and continuous multivariate data with emphasis on epidemiology, genomics and highly dimensional data.
Experience handling longitudinal clinical and biomarker datasets an asset.
Analysis of diagnostics data, with emphasis on receiver-operator characteristic analysis, sensitivity, specificity.
Causal inference methods for complex data structures, including censored and longitudinal data.
Multivariate statistical methods, such as principle components analysis, hierarchical and partitional clustering, artificial neural networks, training and classification algorithms,  
Computational biology, including genetic mapping, high-throughput microarray and sequencing gene expression studies, and other current topics in genomics would be considered an asset.
Experience working with 16s RNA sequence data and/or other microbiome sequence datasets would be an asset.
Familiarity with statistical methods/approaches suitable for assay validation/calibration would be considered an asset.
The ability to work independently to create and validate diagnostic prediction algorithms from various types of biomarker data.
