Description

Reporting to the Finance & Systems Manager, the successful applicant will lead a 15-member team of software developers, DevOps, network analysts and IT support personnel in providing exceptional software and IT support to meet the scientific and business needs of Canadian Light Source Inc.  Key responsibilities will include building strong interpersonal relationships with a varying array of science, consultants and business professionals in order to provide innovative software solutions as well as stable corporate systems and network infrastructure.  Additionally, the Team Lead holds primary responsibility for budget management, staffing decisions and staff performance management of the software and IT infrastructure operations.

Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field, with a preference for 5 to 10 years experience in a software or infrastructure leadership role. However, strong technical candidates with limited supervisory/leadership experience will be considered and are encouraged to apply. Solid knowledge of project management methodologies, hardware and software lifecycle, and cyber security in an evolving organization. Experience with Agile, Continuous Delivery/Integration, Dev Ops, and Micro services are definite assets. Platforms include Windows, Linux and OSX. Knowledge in hardware technologies  including networking, revitalization, and storage  is an asset.
