Description

The Executive Director is the key representative of the Saskatoon Indian & Metis Friendship Centre (SIMFC), and has overall responsibility of the planning, organization and  implementation of SIMFC programs and services aimed at improving the quality of life for Aboriginal people in our community.  The Executive Director is also responsible for the supervision of the staff and the operation of the facility, reporting to and working closely with the SIMFC Board of Directors.  The Executive Director will develop and bring forward strategies to the Board of Directors for approval and implementation.
  The Executive Director's role is key to the successful operation of the SIMFC.  The candidate must possess a thorough knowledge of aboriginal issues and will interact with aboriginal and non-aboriginal organizations, elected and bureaucratic goverment officials, and possess excellent interpersonal, community and organizational skills.
The successful candidate's credentials will include academic training or equivalent experience, combined with a track record of successful management (minimum of 3 years experience in successful management and human resources). The candidate will have demonstrated past success in the areas of stategic planning, proposal submissions as well as human resources mangagement.
  Knowledge of First Nations and Metis cultures, and the ability to speak an aboriginal language would be a definite asset.
