On behalf of our client, a leading distributor for various manufacturers of grain cleaning and handling equipment, we are seeking a Parts Person to start immediately.
The successful candidate MUST be mechanically inclined & have an agricultural background.
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Sell supplies and parts for ag equipment
Help determine replacement parts required according to customer requests or descriptions of malfunctions
Advise customers of substitutions or modification of parts when identical replacements are not available
Order parts for customers
Receive supplies and ship them to customers
Organize and ship exchange parts and returns
Examine return parts for defects, and exchange defective parts or refund money
Prepare quotes
Submit bills
Keep records, prepare sales slips or sales contracts
Receive payment or obtain credit authorization
This trade is most rewarding for those who enjoy variety, working with people, working in their area of expertise, and participating in the customer's success.
To be successful in their trade, parts technicians must have:
the ability to deal effectively and courteously with the public even in difficult situations
basic math skills
strength, stamina and the ability to use proper lifting techniques to lift items up to 18 kilograms
the ability to pay careful attention to details such as parts catalogues and electronic inventory systems.
