The successful candidate will be expected to have demonstrated experience in:
Outstanding proactive leadership skills, including a commitment to action & a demonstrated ability to inspire & mobilize others to achieve exemplary performance & outcomes
Experience as a dean, associate dean, director or other similar leadership position
Involvement in the facilitation of building, articulating & pursuing a vision for a unit through to successful implementation
Record of working across academic disciplines in a highly collaborative manner; practicing distributed leadership; valuing expertise from colleagues, & empowering & offering ownership in achieving objectives
Ability to engage with Indigenous communities, appreciate the significance of Indigenous traditions & knowledge, & support the teaching, learning & research of Aboriginal & non-Aboriginal students staff & faculty
Broad thinking, innovative & creative leader; open to new opportunities & ideas
Deep understanding of & commitment to diversity & inclusivity
Ability to think strategically & to communicate effectively
Demonstrated experience in strategic planning & initiating & effectively managing change within a large & diverse organization
Commitment to openness, transparency & accountability
Establish & maintain effective working relationships with students, faculty & staff; promoting teamwork, collaboration & partnership
Commitment to interdisciplinarity & multiple ways of knowing
Administration within a complex collegial, multi-union environment
