Summer Employment
Teacher Counsellor

Job Description:
Each Teacher Counsellor is responsible for the academic program of a small group of students.  The TC is responsible to:

    Work in a joint effort with the Camp Director to develop an individualized academic program for 5 or 6 individual campers.
    Use desired learning outcomes to prepare and teach specific lessons.
    Demonstrate creative planning and teaching which makes learning an interesting and enjoyable experience, and to utilize the natural environment to the fullest in lessons.
    Observe campers progress and provide adaptations to the campers program as needed.
    Compile a weekly written report and a final written report, outlining each campers progress, areas of strength, and areas that still require focus.
    Provide general care and supervision to a small group of campers in a cabin.
    Assist in providing supervision during large group activities, such as meals, campfire, and camp swim.  
    Guide campers in work crews when assigned.
    Work for the common good of the camp, providing assistance to the directors and other staff as needed.
