Description

Ehrlo Sport Venture is seeking a part-time staff member. The Community Recreation Worker [CRW] is a key member of the Sport Venture team, and integral to the successful operation of no cost leagues and other programs which are targeted at removing barriers between youth and participation in sport and recreation opportunities. The CRW will assist with the operation of Ehrlo Sport Venture Library, including our School Skate Program, equipment lending, inventory control and equipment repair, and Ehrlo community sports leagues as required.  The Community Recreation Worker also plays an important role in serving the public and interacting with volunteers.

Education
    Post-Secondary training in Kinesiology, Social Work, Education and/or experience working with children, youth, and families at risk will be considered. Experience working with children and youth with complex needs is an asset.

Requirements
    Ability to engage clientele, be respectful, non-judgmental and consistent in interactions with participants, volunteers, and co-workers.
    The ability to work independently and collaboratively.  
    Some evening and weekend availability
    Class 5 novice 2 or higher drivers license and eligible for coverage under our commercial auto insurance policy.

Working Knowledge
    Understanding of risk factors which may impact children and families.
    Strong organizational skills
    Strong oral and written communication skills.
    Knowledge of community programs and recreational opportunities for children in the community and how to access
    First Aid and Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation
    Understanding of the importance of confidentiality
    Basic understanding of legislation such as the Saskatchewan Child and Family Services Act.


Starting wage is $20.12 to $27.94 per hour depending on education and experience.
