Description

Under the direction of the Youth Addiction Lead Counsellor of the Treatment Centre, the Night Youth Support Worker will be responsible for providing a safe environment for the residents of WBTC.
Overseeing care of the youth at night, the position will assist with problem solving, general organization and tidiness of the unit and other similar tasks. The Night Youth Support Worker will help facilitate personal, social and educational growth in young people in residence in order to help them reach their full potential in society.

QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12 Diploma and equivalent AND three (3) years direct work experience as a youth caregiver
Certificate, Diploma in the field of social work, psychology, education, or human services AND three (3) years direct work experience
Other Requirements:
Ability to use de-escalation skills with youth clients and seek assistance from Supervisor and/or other staff
Ability to understand the awareness of and sensitivity to the needs of youth and youth culture that WBYTC serves
Knowledge of accepted and effective techniques for working with at risk youth with diverse family dynamics
Excellent communication skills, professional demeanor, sound judgment, and strong organizational skills
Ability to impact client retention through mentoring, motivation, and monitoring practices
Detailed knowledge of all current Microsoft Office software applications and programs, including an aptitude and working knowledge of computer courseware and hardware
Commitment to personal wellness

Valid Saskatchewan Driver's License
CPR and First Aid Certification
Must provide a clear CPIC, vulnerable sector check and be alcohol and drug free
