Description

Key responsibilities will include:
Lead and continue to develop a skilled and effective team through recruiting, assessment of talent, training & development, goal setting, communications, performance appraisals.
Ensure the safety of employees, building on Sapphires philosophy of safety first. Drive strict compliance with safety policies.
Provide technical assistance, i.e. interpretation of drawings, recommending construction methods and equipment, etc., as required.
Work with the electrical, automation and manufacturing departments to coordinate quote activity, manage production scheduling, meet customer timelines and ensure efficient utilization of staff.
Identify, initiate and maintain job costing and issuance of change orders.
Participate in project management and business development by communicating with customers about the status of projects.
Work with Sales Management and senior management to support marketing and sales efforts.
Work with the President to establish long term plans as well as annual operating plans and budgets.


A Saskatchewan Journeyman or Masters license with 7-10 years experience in commercial, industrial, and/or water/wastewater treatment or a B.S. Degree in Chemical, Electrical or Mechanical Engineering is ideal. Candidate must have the ability to read blueprints and specifications, do estimating, and manage electrical/mechanical projects. Experience must include managing projects from $100,000 to $5,000,000. Travel to customer sites is required. Other qualifications include:
Highly developed communication, negotiation and organizational skills with keen attention to detail.
Willingness to coach, guide and direct supervisors and hourly staff as required to ensure that they are performing their duties as required.
5  10 years of experience in managing and leading a production and service team.
10+ years in the electrical or control system field desired.
