Description

We are currently recruiting for a Transportation Manager.  The candidate will be responsible for all logistical requirements for the company as well as ensuring all transportation legislation requirements and company specific regulations are adhered to. This position will also ensure sufficient equipment capacity is available and maintain the competitive cost advantage for the company to meet current and future logistical needs of the company.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
-Build and maintain transportation infrastructure and budget
-Equipment  regular/safety maintenance and keeping up to date with industry developments
-Recruitment/Retention of Lease operator fleet
-Regulatory/Risk Management/TQA
-Animal welfare & biosecurity compliance
-Manage/maintain all company service vehicles and powered mobile equipment
-Oversee rolling stock of company, including Alberta and Manitoba operations
-Ensure fleet capacity to meet current and future demands
-Oversee Truck Wash in Humboldt, SK
-Must have or obtain TQA trainer certificate
-Establish and maintain driver training programs to ensure TQA compliance
QUALIFICATIONS:
Post-secondary education in a relatable field or a minimum of 5 years of experience in a fleet management role or working with contract carriers
Excellent analytical skills & accomplished at negotiations
Well versed in DOT regulations and familiar with TQA, ACA, and CQA rules and regulations
Familiar with all aspects of running a fleet
Experience in a livestock haul (swine, poultry, or cattle) operation is preferred
Ability to manage transportation infrastructure and prepare operating budgets
Strong computer skills in all MS Office applications
Knowledge of business and management principles
Strong leadership, decision and problem solving skills, analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution and to solve problems
Must have a valid Driver's License
