Summary
Reporting to the Information Technology Manager, the Information Technology Technician provides technical on-site support for installing and maintaining computer hardware, software and networks. The specialist will provide permanent solutions and ensures application integrity. Furthermore, the individual role involves providing training and support to primary users.
Accountabilities
Ensure technology is accessible and equipped with current hardware and software
Monitor and maintain technology to ensure maximum access
Troubleshoot workstation related application issues, including operating system issues.
Assist in network related activities.
Assist in regular support related tickets.
Provide orientation to new users of existing technology
Provide individual training and support on request
Configure workstations and laptop computers.
Coordinate workstation procurement and configuration
Intranet/website configuration and design
Maintain a log and/or list of required repairs and maintenance
Install work stations, connect and set up hardware, load all required hardware
Ability to troubleshoot issues quickly and provide permanent solutions.
Requirements
Minimum post-secondary certificate or diploma in IT Support
Minimum of 1 year working experience in providing IT application support.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Linux knowledge is an asset
Demonstrate ability to work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines
Proven interpersonal, analytical, presentation and problem solving skills.
