Description

This position reports directly to the Water & Sewer Systems Manager.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Installation, reading, reconditioning and calibration of water meters and associated instrumentation.
- Read and update Water Distribution and Wastewater Collections system maps.
- Maintain and service any Lift and Booster stations.
- Operates, repairs, maintains, services and monitors equipment and stations.
- Installation and maintenance of storm sewer mains, including installation and maintenance of any catch basins
- Maintain equipment, work sites and buildings in a clear orderly manner.
- Must be available for rotational weekends and on-call.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of thawing water mains and sewer service.
- Knowledge in use of video/computer equipment for sewer and services mains.
- Must comply with OH&S Act and Regulations, and follow all Occupational Health & Safety Policies and standard operating procedures as established by the City of Yorkton.

QUALIFICIATIONS
- Grade 12 or GED.
- Preferred Sask Environment certification in Water Distribution 3 and Wastewater collection 3
- Water and Sewer experience would be considered an asset
- The following will be considered an asset: WHIMIS or CSTS; Ground Disturbance; Confined Space; Rigging and Hoisting; Safe Trenching and Trench Rescue for Excavations.
- Mechanically inclined, any related education or experience in equipment operation or maintenance would be considered an asset.
- Most possess and maintain valid Class 5 Drivers License (Valid Class 3A Drivers Licence is preferred)
- Must possess and maintain RCMP Security Clearance
