The Saskatchewan Association for Community Living (SACL) is a provincial organization that provides support and consultation to individuals with intellectual disabilities and their families. The SACL is seeking a talented and motivated individual to fill the position of summer student to do research for the ongoing and internal purposes of the organization and board. The primary areas of research will be in the topics of Intellectual Disability Supports in Northern Saskatchewan. This position will work closely with the Director of Community Engagement (DCE) and Northern Disability Coalition. The key deliverables for this position will be:
1. Compile a Northern Saskatchewan Disability Services Directory that identifies government and community-based services available to individuals with intellectual disabilities.
2. Conduct a related gap analysis to identify areas of concern.
3. Production of internal research briefs for the DCE and Northern Disability Coalition related to the Directory and gap analysis.
4. Assist the DCE with community-based research related to the Northern Partnerships for Inclusion.
5. Provide administrative support as is required for summer relief.
The ideal candidate will be able to work within a diverse and dynamic office environment. We are seeking a senior level undergraduate or a master'ss level student with experience doing social and policy research as they relate to Development, Indigenous and Northern fields of study, with additional knowledge of issues relating to Intellectual Disabilities.
