Description

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Dietitian/Program Facilitator position is a non-clinical professional who will use a combination of individualized guidance and program tools to enhance the quality of life for their participants. You will be actively involved in group program facilitation (either as a support role or lead facilitator depending on the session), providing group and one-on-one support for participants, motivating and supporting participants while building confidence and promoting positive behaviours and tools to adopt healthier coping mechanisms.

As the successful candidate you will have:

Must have a valid drivers license.
Post-secondary education in social sciences, health, social work, or community development and/or related experience in community development, health promotion or program delivery and development
Licensed registered dietitian strongly preferred.  Qualifications and experience in areas such as eating disorders, nutrition, mental wellness, coaching and/or health behaviours would be an asset
Experience in health-related or non-profit organization
Experience in working with individuals and/or community groups
Understanding of the issues and challenges faced by local people within a targeted community
Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication, including networking and public speaking skills
Strong listening and motivational skills
Ability to apply knowledge and skills in practice
Experience working with diverse cultures and demographics
Group facilitation skills
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize, problem solve, be adaptable and meet deadlines
Available to work shift work and evenings
