Description

McKercher LLP, a full service law firm with over 60 lawyers, requires a trained professional to fill a permanent, full-time Legal Assistant position in our Corporate Department in our Saskatoon office.

The right candidate is a confident and self-motivated individual who thrives in a busy and fast-paced environment and has a proven track record in the corporate area.

The successful applicant must be able to multi-task efficiently and effectively and will be expected to maintain a high level of confidentiality at all times. The ability to prioritize, organize and expedite workflow, coupled with the ability to work in a deadline driven environment is imperative to succeed in this opportunity.

In addition to computer skills, we require a strong client service focus. The successful candidate must have the ability to work as part of a team with our corporate lawyers, other team members and clients.

To be successful in this role, you have:

- graduated from a recognized Legal Assistant program (equivalencies will be considered) and have a minimum of 5 years experience with corporate law

- excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail

- the ability to meet strict deadlines

- strong computer and communication skills (knowledge of Emergent database program is an asset)

- exceptional organizational ability

- the ability to work independently, problem solve, follow instructions with minimal supervision & take initiative

- knowledge & understanding of the Saskatchewan Corporate Registry & its forms

- ability to organize & maintain corporate records

- ability to draft corporate documents, including agreements, resolutions, supporting documentation

- willingness to learn and contribute to the team
