Description

The Renew Project Coordinator will be responsible for implementing the Renew Projects strategy of: 1. Educating residents and property owners about property crimes and reporting process. 2. Engaging residents in taking pride in the physical environment of the neighbourhood through volunteer events. 3. Providing service for victims of vandalism by removing or repairing damage by working with offenders and community volunteers.

The Organization
North Central Community Association has been a leader in community development since the mid 70s. As one of Reginas most active community associations, it represents some of the most diverse population in the city today. Although economic and social inequalities still continue, North Central has risen above its adversity to become leader in social and economic reform.

Responsibilities
Coordinating community work-bees to clean up graffiti and garbage on selected North Central city blocks.
Monthly written reports for funders and board of directors
Recruiting and supervising community volunteers
Coordinate annual community clean-up event with over 100 volunteers.
Supervise Summer Student assistant

Qualifications
Be able to do physical labour including lifting heavy equipment, bending and kneeling
Experience with community development and crime prevention
Experience with exterior painting and graffiti removal an asset
Experience with landscaping, lawn care and trimming trees
Experience teaching and working with children and adults
Experience with surveying and interviewing public
Possess a valid drivers license
Understanding of North Central neighbourhood an asset

Employment Type: Temporary full-time Tuesday to Saturday with an average of 35 hours per week
Remuneration: $16.00/hr
Hours: Flexible hours with an average of 35 hours/week, Tuesday-Saturday
Duration: June 1, 2017 to August 31, 2017
Contest Closes: April 21, 2017
