Description

Byron & Michelle Clarke, located at Land Description: NW-25-038-36-W3, Denzil, Saskatchewan, S0L 0S0, is seeking a Farm Foreman to start as soon as possible.

Location of Employment: Land Locations: N1/2-25-38-26-W3 / SE-36-38-26-W3 / NW-36-38-26-W3 / SE-22-38-26 / SEC1-39-23-W3, Denzil, Saskatchewan. Staff accommodation available.

Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's licence
Experience: Minimum of 1 year related experience


JOB DUTIES

Main Duties:
- Supervise 1  2 farm workers during seeding & harvesting season.
- Receive and process new cattle (tag, vaccinate, implant, etc.), assessing animal health & providing treatment where necessary.
- Check pens for herd health and identify & pull any sick cattle as necessary.
- General administration of herd health  check cattle for illnesses & injuries, pull and treat with medication where necessary, recording with computer software.
- Move cattle when required, sort to ship, & load for shipping.
- Supervise breeding program.
- Oversee calving program, provide care for orphaned calves when required. Processing & weaning of newborn calves.
- Check head counts, lot numbers and correct pen & fed finishing rations; feeding based on gender, origin, age, weight & marketing plan.
- Qualify conditions of bunks. Check scales on feed trucks to ensure proper loading and feeding. Adjust variances between covers and make corresponding changes to rations. Operate feed truck and deliver feed to pens.
- Assist Manager in problem solving any situations that may occur in the yard.

Minor Duties

- Assist with feeding and bedding.
- Ensure water systems are operational.
- Assist with maintenance of pens.
- Assist in seeding and harvesting seasons; plant, cultivate & irrigate crops, harvest crops, detect disease & health problems in crops. Operate farm machinery.
- General maintenance of yard equipment and machinery.
