Role
The suitable candidate is directly responsible for advertising sales and marketing, this role requires the direct to develop, implement and manage the organizations advertising strategy, both from a business, sales and technical perspective. Must be a team player and will report directly to the General Manager and President of the hockey club.
Responsibilities
- Search for new clients by networking, cold calling, advertising or other means of generating interest from potential clients
- Cold call within the Humboldt and District region
- Research and build relationships with potential clients
- Set up meetings with new and current/past clientele
- Plan persuasive pitches that will convince clients to do business with the hockey club
- Set targets for sales and provide support for targets
- Grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients
- Requires a through knowledge of the market, solutions/services the company can provide and of the companys competitors
- Submit progress reports
- Track and record activity on accounts and ensure that targets are met
- Work with General Manager, Assistant Manager, Coaches, Office Manager, PR and Game Day Coordination, President and board members
Qualifications & Competencies
- Post secondary degree/diploma with emphasis on office management, business, marketing or sports management
- Must be able to organize and manage a variety of responsibilities in a dynamic setting
- Possession of time management skills with the ability to prioritize and work independently is essential
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
- Must be friendly and have above average communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in a related field favoured
