Description

Buffalo Pound Provincial Park is currently seeking a dynamic and enthusiastic individual to work as part of a team to assist with the planning and implementation of water-based recreation in an outdoor leisure pool setting.

You will have knowledge of:

Red Cross Water Safety Instructor (WSI) and LSS National Lifeguard - Pool Certification.
Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification.
Considerations may be given to those with Bronze Cross and Assistant Water Safety Instructor (AWSI) certifications. Other aquatic certifications such as Aquatic Emergency Care and Lifesaving Instructor or others are assets to the position.
You will have demonstrated ability to:
Provide lifeguard duties and ensure a safe swimming environment by being attentive swimmers, by being attentive to swimmers and enforcing safety rules and educating the public in and around the water.
Support other staff members with daily maintenance of pool facilities, chemical testing and reporting, checking live saving equipment and provide impute to improve pool facility programs.
Work independently and/or participate as a member of a team to achieve common goals and contribute to a positive work environment.
Actively listen to, acknowledge concerns, provide explanations and/or options to diffuse situations with people in a calm and courteous manner.
