Description

The Alex Robertson Public Library is seeking a creative individual with a strong financial and partnership-building background for the position of Library Administrator.  The library is located in the Town of La Ronge and serves an area of approximately 8,000 residents, including the Town of La Ronge, the Village of Air Ronge, the Lac La Ronge Indian Band and other surrounding communities.

Position Summary

The Library Administrator, under the authority and general supervision of the joint La Ronge and Air Ronge Community Library Boards, is responsible for the implementation of Board policies and for the administration of the operations of the Alex Robertson Public Library.  Responsibilities include: financial reporting, planning, budgeting, and developing, implementing and evaluating library services to ensure that they meet patron and community needs. Other duties include human resource management, collection development, oversight of library programs, report writing, working cooperatively with the Board to review and evaluate policies/operations, and the collection and synthesis of library statistics.

Qualifications:

- Ideally possesses a Masters of Library Science or a Library Technician Diploma, or a combination of relevant education and work experience.
-A working knowledge of the Saskatchewan Public Libraries Act and all legislation related to the daily operations of a public library.
-Knowledge of integrated library systems. Experience with Polaris an asset.
-Successful experience in: administration, financial reporting and management, program planning, development and maintenance of community partnerships, staff supervision, policy writing, collection development and materials acquisition, and delivery of reference and readers' advisory services.
-Experience with accounting software and financial reporting will be considered a strong asset.
-Current criminal record check with vulnerable sector check.
