Description

The successful applicant will be tasked with attractins, developing, and planning events/festivals in the Valley Region. The Events coordinator will plan and implement community events and activities that enhance the programs and activities as outlined in the Calling Lakes District Valley of Festivals guidelines. This person will manage special projects according to events planned and grants received. Researching, developing, and evaluating grant applications will be a key role. The committee is looking for an energetic, enthusiastic individual who wishes to make a difference in their community. Experience working with people in a positive, supportive manner, and experience coordinating large and/or small scale events is key. The ability to establish productive relationships with people at all levels would be useful, as well as an ability to work with and supervise numerous volunteers. This job will need a person with the ability to manage multiple projects and work assignments from a variety of service groups and volunteers. Excellent communication and presentation skills, computer skills, knowledge and experience with digital/social media would be important.   Must have a passion for recreation, arts, culture and event management. Knowledge of First Nations Culture and Traditions would be an important asset. The applicant should have a minimum of two years direct experience with event planning and grant writing, and/or a degree in a related discipline, such as Communications, English, Professional Writing, Marketing or similar major. Must have a valid driver's licence and must be able to pass security and background checks.
