Estimated Start Date ASAP
Duties:Diagnose diseases or abnormal conditions in individual animals, herds and flocks through physical examinations or laboratory tests
Treat sick or injured animals by prescribing medication, setting bones, dressing wounds or performing surgery
Vaccinate animals to prevent and treat diseases
Advise clients on feeding, housing, behaviour, breeding, hygiene and general care of animals
Provide a range of veterinary services including obstetrics, dentistry and euthanasia
Perform routine, emergency and postmortem examinations
Supervise animal health technologists and animal care workers
Conduct veterinary research related to areas such as animal nutrition, health care products development and disease prevention and control
Enforce government regulations in disease control and food production including animal or animal-based food inspection
Mobile service to farms and houses required
Education:Two years of pre-veterinary university studies or completion of a college program in health science and A four to five year university degree in veterinary medicine
Experience is an asset
Hold or willing to obtain the Canadian Veterinary Medical Associations (CVMA) National Examining Board (NEB) Certificate of Qualification AND the Saskatchewan Veterinary Medical Association (SVMA) licence
Must be capable of doing large and small animal medicine & surgery
Mobile service is a must
Salary $34.70 to $36.70/hr,40-58 Hrs/week.Minimum 40 hrs/week guaranteed,overtime paid after 40 hrs/week.Disability insurance provided along with Dental & Extended Medical insurances that are part of the Blue Cross.Work clothing including lab coat,wet suit & boots also provided.Flexibility in schedule required.Shifts:8am to 5pm,Mon-Fri & night work every 3rd night & weekend hrs every 3rd weekend
