Under the general direction of the Nawigizigweyas Education Centre Principal,the Grad Mentor will provide students and teachers support as we strive to increase graduation rates at NEC.The Grad Mentor is to Provide embedded training and support for teachers and work diligently to improve the graduation rates of YQFN students through leadership development, mentorship programs, engagement programs, and academic supports to ensure students graduate at grade level.Ensure success of NEC students, Approach focuses on 4 key areas: Life Skills, Academic Excellence, Graduation and Post- Secondary. Bachelors degree or equivalent
The ability to develop and maintain good working relationships with all levels of staff within the Saskatoon Tribal Council (STC), with local and provincial education partnerships and organizations; and with the local community
Understanding of the Saulteaux traditions and language would be an asset.Past experience working in a First Nation School.Current Criminal Record Check (CPIC) and Vulnerable Sector Search must be provided
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.)
- Provincial Teaching Certificate
- Membership in a provincial or territorial teachers' association or federation
