The Executive Director serves as executive director of the Newo Yotina Friendship Centre (NYFC) and, in partnership with the Board, is responsible for the success of the NYFC. Together, the Board and Executive Director assure NYFCs relevance to the community, the accomplishment of NYFC mission and vision, and the accountability of the NYFC to its members. The Board delegates responsibility for management and day-to-day operations to the Executive Director, and s/he has the authority to carry out these responsibilities, in accordance with the direction and policies established by the Board. The Executive Director provides direction and enabling to the Board as it carries out its governance functions.
Qualifications
- Your experience will show a successful 3 to 5yrs in mid to senior management with 5 to 6 yrs in human resources practice
- Minimum of some post secondary required, Bachelors degree preferred
- Extensive knowledge of First Nations and Metis Cultures
- Demonstrated Experience in successful grant writing
- Demonstrated experience in event coordination and program management
- Aboriginal Candidate preferred
- Fluency in an Aboriginal Language is an asset
