Description

Aboriginal Court Worker.

The Prince Albert Indian & Metis Friendship Centre has a permanent full time position as an Aboriginal Court Worker.  This is a full time position.
The Aboriginal Court worker program is mandated to assist Aboriginal clients charged with an offence before the criminal courts to receive fair, just, equitable and culturally sensitive treatment.

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL ALSO POSSESS:
Post-secondary certificate, diploma or degree from a justice related program or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must have knowledge of, and sensitivity towards Aboriginal culture.
Ability to speak an Aboriginal language and asset.
Must have good presentation skills, oral and written communications.
Must be computer literate.
Able to travel and possess a valid drivers license
Knowledge of court system is an asset.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
Ability to network and communicate with multiple agencies & community resources.
Criminal & Abuse Records Check to be provided with the application.
Must be able to work flexible hours.
Hourly wage dependant on experience and education
