The Ministry of Central Services is seeking a highly motivated individual with excellent interpersonal and leadership skills to join the IT Portfolio Management Office. Reporting directly to the Co-Chairs of Information Management Advisory Council (IMAC), this position will be located in Regina.
This position will be responsible for the portfolio management strategy and provide clear leadership and overall direction for the IT Portfolio Management Office. You will be responsible for ensuring that the needs and accomplishments within the business area are widely known and understood. Your responsibilities include oversight of health, integration and delivery of projects within the portfolio, communicating with ministries and making project recommendations to the governance committees.
The ideal candidate will have a broad understanding of executive government including governance, stakeholders, partners and applicable legislation. The position will apply portfolio, program and project management concepts, principles, practices and standards in project assessment, strategic planning, risk management and change management design, development testing and release of commercial off-the-shelf and custom-developed programs to meet the needs of client Ministries. This position will work closely with Ministries and the Information Technology Division.
The knowledge and skills required for this position are typically gained through senior experience in the project or program management. Our ideal candidate would have extensive experience leading medium to large scale projects through the full project life cycle. Management of Portfolios, Portfolio Management Professional, PRINCE2, PMP Certification or equivalent are required for this position. Working in the public sector and background experience in Project and Program Management are considered an asset.
