Co-op Refinery Complex
PRIMARY FUNCTION
The primary responsibility of this position is to provide leadership and direction for the daily activities performed within the Co-op Refinery Laboratory.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Duties include, but are not limited to: scheduling daily workload and coordinating duties to ensure the completion of testing; active supervision of laboratory staff; coordinating and resolving information requests for laboratory customers; ensuring compliance to Core Principles, and Occupational Health and Safety regulations; ensuring quality of test procedures through method and equipment audits; and ensuring the maintenance, repair, or replacement of Lab equipment to prevent downtime. This position reports to the Chief Chemist.
These positions may require 12 hour shifts; including scheduled work during weekends and holidays.
QUALIFICATIONS
The ideal candidate will have Bachelors Degree (with a strong focus in Chemistry) and 10 to 15 years experience in a petroleum or industrial lab setting. Candidates must have a strong focus on safety, be team-oriented, and have excellent leadership, interpersonal and communication skills.
