The Opportunity
Horizon School Division #205 is seeking an individual for a temporary full-time (1.0 FTE) Regional KidsFirst Community Developer. The successful candidate will work in partnership with other human service partners and communities to develop strategies to support families, facilitate learning opportunities, promote and enhance early childhood development, and coordinate early childhood initiatives.
This position will commence as soon as possible and will conclude on September 3, 2018.
Qualifications
Post-secondary degree in human services or a combination of education & experience
Knowledge of community development processes
Ability to work with a variety of groups with diverse interests
Able to travel and work flexible hours
Valid Saskatchewan drivers license
Oral and written communication skills and group facilitation skills
Computer skills are considered an asset
Duties
Identify andbuild on the strengths & capacities of early childhood programs
Provide training/education to community and human service providers to increase capacity as it relates to early childhood development
Meet andcollaborate with stakeholders and groups
Maintain an inventory of current services & resources for early childhood development
Provide leadership andfacilitate opportunities for communities to develop action plans in response to identified needs
Advocate andpromote the development of community, interagency & interdisciplinary approaches to early childhood development
Provide written andoral reports as requested on progress towards goals
Other duties as required
