The Cook will be responsible for the provision of nutritious and healthy meals for the residents of White Buffalo Treatment Centre. This position is responsible for providing food service and maintenance of the kitchen, eating areas and food storage facilities during the weekday shifts. Duties will also include food preparation and cooking, baking, planning, menu development and serving of full course meals and snacks for clients, staff and guests at the centre. This position will also be responsible for purchasing of food and supplies, ensuring hygiene and safe food handling procedures are followed as well as a clean and sanitary kitchen and designated eating areas.

QUALIFICATIONS
Grade 12 or equivalent AND three (3) years of proven experience in food preparation and handling
Culinary Diploma AND two (2) years of proven experience and skills in food preparation and handling
Safe Food Certification required
Physically capable of performing assigned duties within a flexible work schedule
Other Requirements:
First Nation Ancestry required
Knowledge of First Nations language and culture an asset
Ability to function autonomously, to be flexible and adapt to change
High level of professionalism and able to maintain confidentiality at all times
Ability to communicate in English both in writing and verbally
Current certification in First Aid/CPR training
Commitment to personal wellness, living a lifestyle that is free from alcohol and drugs
Valid Saskatchewan Drivers License
Must provide a clear CPIC, vulnerable sector check and be alcohol and drug free
