The Department of Mathematics and Statistics in the College of Arts and Science at the University of Saskatchewan invites applications for 4 one-year limited term faculty positions in the area of Mathematics and Statistics at the rank of Lecturer effective July 1, 2017.
Applicants should have a PhD in Mathematics or Statistics, or in a related discipline. The successful candidate will have a demonstrable capacity for high-quality undergraduate teaching and a dedication to teaching excellence. The applicant should have a record of excellent teaching with experience and demonstrated competence in undergraduate teaching in the mathematical sciences.
The successful candidate will be expected to teach six courses with an emphasis on foundation and service-oriented first and second year undergraduate courses in Mathematics/Statistics.
The Department offers undergraduate courses towards degrees in Applied Mathematics, Mathematics, Mathematical Physics, and Statistics, as well as several service-oriented courses for students in Commerce, the Life Sciences, and Engineering. In addition, Department members are engaged in research, interdisciplinary and international collaborations, curriculum improvement and development, community outreach and promotion of the Mathematical Sciences. We welcome candidates whose professional interests overlap with those of the department.
