Description

Summary:
COMTECH is looking to expand its Finance and Administration team with two Financial Administrators that will assist in building the new roles needed to make the team prosper. The successful candidate will provide a variety of administrative and accounting functions which may include any combination of processing and monitoring accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, purchasing and inventory, and various other administrative responsibilities such as performing reconciliations, processing tax remittances, and banking. This position requires a high level of accuracy and effective communication skills in order to ensure efficient and appropriate financial and administrative operations.

Responsibilities:
Posting bills from suppliers and processing payments
Issuing invoices to customers and collecting payments
Timely processing of payroll
Maintaining payroll and employee files
Benefits administration
Preparing and balancing appropriate tax forms, T4 slips
Issuing purchase orders and maintaining accuracy of inventory records
Arranging travel and accommodations for staff, as required
Periodic account reconciliation
Monthly bank reconciliation
Preparing and submitting tax remittances
Bank deposits and online banking, as required
Maintaining confidentiality concerning financial information and employee files
Gathering and presenting information for annual review
Providing clerical and administrative support to management, as requested

Requirements:
Accounting certificate or diploma
Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration is an asset
Minimum two (2) years direct experience in transaction accounting with exposure to financial processes and procedures
Knowledge of accounting policy
Knowledge of payroll legislation and employment standards in four (4) provinces
Basic knowledge of accounting systems, budgets, and internal controls
Experience with Netsuite and/or Payworks is an asset
