This funded position through Service Canadas Canada Summer Jobs Program, will afford a college or university student the opportunity to assist CNIB staff in service delivery and office support.
Essential Duties entail:
Assist with planning and implementation of day camps for children who are blind or partially sighted, including:
prepare camp binders
organize and coordinate volunteers for camp
organize budget, waivers and registrations for camp
any other camp duties as assigned;
General office duties including reception coverage;
Assists consumers to view/purchase assistive products and aids;
Data-entry of client information;
Assist in the preparation for the Night Steps Fundraising walk as needed;
File management.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements:
Customer service experience preferred.
Excellent interpersonal skill.
Excellent computer skills using Microsoft Office applications and databases.
Valid Drivers License required
Experience and Education:
Attended full time University/College or Senior high school in the past academic year and intend to return to school full time in the following year preferably in health or business studies.
Experience working in an office setting.
Experience in working with volunteers and individuals with disabilities.
Experience with summer camps or organizing recreational activities with children.
