Description

Reporting to the General Manager, Mine Projects, this position is responsible for the following duties:
Responsibilities:
    Prepare and coordinate the execution of a safe, environmentally responsible, operationally efficient field-testing campaign of the SABRE mining method  
    Work closely with colleague and contractor technical leads
    Coordinate work flows and process with site based personnel, support functions for the SABRE operations (e.g. safety, environment, radiation, and site services)
    Establish a work organization, recruit and prepare project team for field tests (drilling/mining contractor, supervisory, technical and labour manpower)
    Prepare and commission the SABRE Project site infrastructures (high pressure pumps and lines, solid separation unit, backfill equipment and supplies, pond dewatering, etc.), dry and lunchroom facilities
    Ensure operational work instructions and procedures are adhered to and updated where required
    Ensure proper data acquisition, analysis and reporting prior to and following field testing
    Conduct or assist in various technical design reviews
    Conduct regular safety and environmental audits and inspections to ensure compliance
    Perform other duties as assigned by the General Manager, Mine Projects

Skills & Qualifications:
    10 to 15+ years of progressive experience in a mining environment (operations, maintenance, technical, supervisory/management) preferably as a mining or mechanical engineer
    Member of APEGS or eligible to be
    Proven success in a supervising role (general foreman or equivalent) safely leading a diverse team
    Familiar with uranium mining, prior field drilling experience is a plus
    Extensive project and/or technical experience.  R&D experience is considered an asset.
    Strong innovation, problem solving, planning, interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
