The FNSSP Numeracy Consultant is responsible to develop and implement the program related to math, student math assessment tools, and performance measurement systems in conjunction with the supervisor and school principals. In addition, the consultant provides relevant information, coordinates related training, and makes relevant implementation and monitoring tools available to the schools.
? Experience with Math in a multi-disciplinary approach to instruction
? Familiarity with requirements of the First Nations School Success Plan Program.
? Strong knowledge and comprehension of the pedagogical and administrative direction of the PAGC Education Program, as well as all school programs and services and how they function and interact with one another,
? A strong knowledge and/or experience in strategic planning exercises and communications planning
? Excellent oral and written communications skills,
? Excellent knowledge of computer systems including word processing, desktop publishing, and use of the Internet
? The ability to speak one of the PAGC languages would be an asset
Qualifications:
? B-ed, M-ed
? LEADS qualified
? Must provide a Valid Drivers Licence
? Must provide a current criminal record check.
? Experience working with First Nations Education
? Must have experience with reporting AANDC forms
? Ability and experience working with First Nations leadership
? Comprehensive knowledge of current school and student performance measurement indicators, data collection, and management systems in elementary or secondary schools;
? Expertise in measuring school and student performance using data collection and management system at elementary or secondary levels;
? Experience developing and implementing work plans.
? Experience in preparing reports and submitting progress reports;
? Familiarity with the PAGC communities
? Ability to travel to and work in PAGC communities and schools.
? Strong leadership, time management, and problem-solving skills.
