Description

Wright Construction Western Inc. is currently looking for an Estimator for various projects in and around Saskatoon.  

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
- Under the direction of the Chief Estimator, calculate various statistical data - quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man hour, equipment, etc.
- Assist with obtaining scopes of work and pricing from subcontractors and suppliers.
- Assist in closing bids.
- Participate in developing project update and bid package estimate documents.
- Maintain files of working documents for back-up to estimating figures.
- Assist in the monitoring of conceptual estimates with actual cost data.
- Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

REQUIREMENTS

1)Architectural and Building Technology Diploma, Engineering Degree or equivalent combination of technical training plus experience.
2)Prior estimating experience on commercial, infrastructure, and design-build projects.
3)Familiar with how to read and interpret construction documents (ie. Architectural and structural drawings and specifications)
4)Ability to calculate mathematical extensions, read and understand purchase orders, contracts, cost coding systems is essential.
5)Intermediate knowledge of key principles involved in bid preparation, including quantity take off procedures, sub-trade procurement, pricing, and bid-closing procedures.
6)Strong written and verbal communications and interpersonal skills required.
7)Knowledgeable with Microsoft Office and Project software.
