Job Order Detail

Description

Reporting to the Detailing Supervisor, the Detailer provides drafting and design services in support of building orders. This is a Junior Level position and the successful candidate will have the opportunity to expand their design and drafting knowledge working collaboratively with a multi-departmental team on a wide variety of steel-framed building projects.

Tasks & Responsibilities
    Prepares engineered drawings, component lists, shop drawings, and other related documents in the Engineering Department.
    Assists in the creation of new custom parts for steel manufacturing.
    Assists with the preparation of both steel and fabric drawings.
    Schedules, plans, and multi-tasks under the pressure of tight timelines.
    Other duties as assigned.

Competencies and Skills
    Engineering Technology Diploma. Preferably Engineering Design and Drafting Technology or CAD/CAM Engineering Technology.
    Proficient in the use of Excel and AutoCAD.
    Experience using SolidWorks would be beneficial.
    Proficient in time management and problem solving.
    Experience in Construction and/or manufacturing would be considered an asset.
    Ability to prioritize, multi-task and shift priorities as necessary.
    Works collaboratively with a multi-departmental team to provide the best solution to a given project needs.
    Pro-active and self-directed; yet able to work as part of a team.
    Ability to communicate collaboratively with customers and team members.
