Description

Tasks & Responsibilities
    Ensures implementation and adherence to health and safety regulations; promotes safety and encourage safe work practices.
    Maintains quality manufacturing practices and processes; follows defined procedures/inspection criteria, and takes appropriate action on actual and potential problems.
    Manages and develops production employees to achieve established goals of safety, quality and productivity.  Ensures production employees are properly oriented and trained.
    Develops and implements continuous improvements within departmental employees performance through regular feedback, coaching and training.
    Develops and/or implements departmental reporting as required.
    Understands, supports and adheres to Norseman policies and procedures.
    Communicates openly, accurately and effectively.
    Conducts oneself in a professional manner that reflects integrity and respect towards leaders, subordinates, peers and other key stakeholders of the company.

Competencies and Skills
    Minimum of 3 years leadership experience in a manufacturing environment.
    Minimum of 5 years of GMAW weld experience.
    Experience with W47.1 of the Canadian Welding Bureau (CWB) as a supervisor or inspector considered an asset.
    Experience in Lean Manufacturing (yellow belt) considered an asset.
    Post-secondary education or equivalent/related work experience considered an asset.
    Effective team builder with demonstrated abilities in leading and motivating all levels of personnel.
    Proven ability to prioritize and multi-task time sensitive and deadline driven tasks.
    Able to demonstrate a high degree of leadership and supervisory skills.
    Competency in reading and interpreting engineered drawings and weld symbols.
    ISO 9001:2008 experience and competency with Lean Manufacturing considered an asset.
