Description

The USSU Childcare Centre, which provides care for children aged 18 months to 6 years of age, has been in operation on the University of Saskatchewan campus since 1992 and has recently expanded its operations from 66 childcare spaces to 156 spaces.
We are hiring a Manager of Childcare Operations at our USSU Childcare Centre - Williams Location.   The Manager will be accountable to the Executive Director and be responsible for their assigned Centre and its daily operations, while also assisting the Executive Director in meeting his/her deliverables.
Key responsibilities include, but not limited to:
Enforce all policies, procedures, and regulations
Supervise all staff (casual, interns, visiting students, and external program participants) in the centre
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safety regulations for fire drills, lockdowns, and emergency lighting
Primary liaison for consultant and additional external positions in the centre eg Speech, Language, and Behavioural consultants
Ensure appropriate child-to-staff ratios are maintained at all times (including working directly with children to maintain the ratios)

Knowledge & Skills
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work within both a team environment and independently
Familiarity with the structure and operations of non-profit organizations and/or the U of S is an asset
Knowledge of provincially endorsed early childhood care programs

Training & Qualifications
ECE III with 5 years experience in a childcare setting
Valid First Aid/CPR
Knowledge of common computer programs (ie Microsoft Office)
Effective Communication and Management Skills

Experience
Significant experience as a childcare worker
Demonstrated leadership ability
Ability to work well under considerable pressure

Salary
Will be based on the current salary grid, ranging from $34,000 to $62,000 depending on prior experience and qualifications.
