Description

Sewing & Industrial Assembly produces and provides ringette equipment (www.StingerSports.ca), veterinary and health care garments (www.VetLinens.ca), and assembly and mail services, among others.

Duties and responsibilities:
- Supervises and monitors skill development and training activities for up to 25 individuals with an array of abilities.
- Ensures person-centred plans are developed, implemented, and reviewed to support the attainment of goals for the individuals served.
- Manages and performs departmental customer relations, including new customer and business development.
- Provides leadership, supervision, training, and delegation of duties; assists in recruiting, performance reviews, and disciplinary activities.
- Monitors revenues and expenses, and demonstrates sound inventory control practices.
- Initiates and maintains records including work orders, invoices, expense transaction logs, and attendance.
- Plans, forecasts, and schedules production requirements to ensure on time delivery of orders.
- Assists in developing and recommending product pricing and costing.
- Assists with the day-to-day operation of area, which may include sewing, pattern grading and cutting of material lay-ups.  
- Develops and reviews manufacturing processes to ensure product quality and production efficiency.
- Safety champion and leader for the organization.

Qualifications:
- Grade 12 Graduate plus 1  2 years of post-secondary business training or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience operating industrial sewing, cutting equipment, and production processes.
- Demonstrated success in supervising others, production processes and business development.
- Strong attention to detail and focus on results.
- Well-developed time management, problem-solving, communication, technology, and decision-making skills.
