The Western College of Veterinary Medicine seeks three, 12 month term (with potential for extension), full time veterinarians in the Veterinary Emergency Medicine service beginning July 1, 2017.
Responsibilities: This position will be primarily clinical in nature, providing quality emergency care to small animals presented to the Veterinary Medical Centre on an emergency or urgent basis including after-hours. It will also provide quality clinical instruction and supervision to senior veterinary students, technicians and rotating interns during their clinical emergency experience.
Qualifications: DVM (or equivalent); eligible for licensure within the province of Saskatchewan; rotating internship is required and advanced formal training in Emergency medicine and/or Critical care is preferred. Experience in high quality emergency practice is required.
Required Skills: Strong clinical skills in patient assessment, diagnostics and emergency management; quality patient care; excellence and dedication in clinical teaching; strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills; ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced team environment; interest in advancing professional knowledge within the field.
Salary range: $61,618 to $129,736; salary will reflect post-DVM training and experience.
