Are you passionate about helping kids develop problem solving skills? Engineering for Kids is looking for energetic and highly motivated people who enjoy working with kids! As a Lead Instructor, you will be professionally trained on our curriculum and work closely with Assistant Instructors to facilitate programs.
Requirements
1. Leadership Managing a Group of Children: You have the ability to guide the children through
the activities on time.
2. Leadership Developing Others: You are willing to delegate responsibility and to work with others and coach them to develop their capabilities.
3. Customer Orientation: You demonstrate concern for satisfying your external and internal customers. This includes professional conduct and appearance in front of parents, the children, facility employees, and Engineering for Kids staff members.
4. Oral Communication: You express yourself clearly in conversations and when you are instructing the children.
5. Thoroughness: Ensuring that your work and the work of others are complete and accurate. You carefully prepare before sessions and follow up afterwards.
6. Adaptability: You are able to keep functioning effectively when under pressure and/or experiencing rapidly changing or uncertain conditions. This means maintaining self-control those times when that requires significant effort.
7. Transportation: Must have access to dependable transportation.
Duties
You will prepare for, conduct, and clean up after sessions where you guide children through problem solving exercises using engineering principles and methods. You will need to coordinate with Engineering for Kids staff to ensure that materials for each session are ready. You will need to interact with parents and facility staff, although you will direct most commercial issues to the owner. You will mentor Assistant Instructors through on the job training.
