Are you a responsible, energetic, compassionate person who would enjoy working with 12 - 17 year olds? Do you like spending time recreationally or sharing your talents? Have you developed good listening and negotiation skills? Kitchen skills? (Or are willing to learn?) If so, we would like to hear from you! Our adolescent group home is designed to accommodate up to five co-ed residents.
Qualifications and experience:
- Good knowledge of adolescent development
- Familiarity with issues of youth at risk
- Good physical mobility and able to lead recreational activities
- Strong communication skills
- Experience or training in the human services field
- Able to provide care and supervision to youth
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Certificate in First Aid with CPR (or willing to acquire)
- Youth Care Worker Certificate or Diploma is an asset but not essential (some amount of training is provided for successful applicants)
The successful candidate will be required to work shift work including weekends, weekdays, and some night shifts. This is a casual shift-relief position - hours are not guaranteed. Shifts are offered on a seniority basis in a unionized workplace.
All successful candidates will require a clean criminal record vulnerable sector check and a valid Saskatchewan driver's licence.
