Description

March Consulting Associates Inc. is a multi-discipline engineering, project and construction management provider based in downtown Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. March Consulting specializes in the mining sector, most notably potash and uranium mining and refining.

March Consulting is looking for an Intermediate to Senior Structural Engineer. Main duties for this position include the following:
o    Confer with clients and other members of the engineering team and conduct research to determine project requirements
o    Plan and design major structural projects within the mining and other heavy industries
o    Design of structural steel and concrete, including static and dynamic structure design
o    Serve as an integral member of the Asset Integrity team at March
o    Develop construction specifications and procedures
o    Evaluate and recommend appropriate building and construction materials
o    Interpret, review and approve survey and structural design work
o    Conduct field services for structural works
o    Ensure construction plans meet guidelines and specifications of building codes and other regulations
o    Establish and monitor construction work schedules
o    Conduct feasibility studies or other investigations
o    Act as project or site supervisor for land survey or construction work
o    Supervise technicians, technologists and other engineers and review and approve designs, calculations and cost estimates.

Employment requirements:
o    A bachelor's degree in structural engineering or in a related engineering discipline is required.
o    Licensing by APEGS or another Canadian province is required
o    A master's degree or doctorate in a related engineering discipline would be an asset
o    Experience in industrial work with brown & green field is considered an asset
o    Experience in the mining industry is considered an asset
o    Specialized skills in FRP and other composite materials would be asset
o    Experience with STAAD Pro and SAP 2000 would be an asset
