Description

The MLTC Department of Education is seeking an energetic and motivated individual to fill the full-time position of a Middle Years English Language Arts Coach.

The successful candidate will report to the MLTC Superintendent of Education and will be responsible for supporting the implementation and monitoring of a renewed ELA curriculum in Grades 4-9 within the MLTC First Nation communities.

He/she will also assist ELA teachers in researching and implementing best practices in the service delivery of the ELA programs at the request of the Meadow Lake First Nation Schools. He/she will provide classroom support and professional development to the Meadow Lake First Nation Middle Years English Language Arts Teachers (Grades 4-9) through the MLTC Office of Education programs.  The Coach shall also perform duties as assigned by their immediate supervisor.

Qualifications:
- A Bachelor?s Degree in Education or a Master?s Degree or commitment to begin studies in a field appropriate to the English Language Arts education
- Saskatchewan Professional `A? Teachers Certification or the ability to obtain such standing
- Minimum five (5) years of teaching experience
- Experience working with First Nation Schools & Communities
- Excellent communication skills (Verbal/Written); decision making skills; professional judgment skills, etc.  
- Excellent interpersonal, time-management, and organizational skills
- Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in computer software applications (i.e. Microsoft-Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook, etc.)
- Willing to travel to the First Nation Communities; work independently and within a team setting
