The University School of dance is currently looking for a ballet instructor for the 2017-18 season. Classes are evenings, possibly Saturdays from September through May, and studios are located on campus. Teachers are responsible for preparing and instruction of appropriate lessons (age/skill level), creating and teaching choreography for the final recital, costuming, and maintaining good communication with parents, students, other members of the teaching team, and the coordinator.Ideal candidates will possess an excellent rapport with children and youth, be trained in the Royal Academy Dance syllabus (or equivalent ballet training in CDTA or other syllabi)) at the Intermediate to Advanced level, has had experience teaching children and/or youth, and is a team player. Completion or currently completing a university degree in Education/Kinesiology/Fine Arts will be considered an asset. Potential teachers must hold a valid CPR/First aid certificate and will be required to have a voluntary criminal record check. This is a contract position.
