Sr. Electrical Technologist

POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Key Lakes maintenance engineering team plays a critical role in the successful operation of the milling facility. In this role you will be responsible for the electrical infrastructure, including support of day-to-day troubleshooting, drawings and consulting, as well as the administration of the reliability program. You will ensure electrical up-time while upholding a focus on safety and efficiency. This includes a broad range of initiatives and projects such as black start system upgrades, overhead line fault indicators and revitalization, as well as the implementation of an Electrical Workplace Safety Program.
You will rely on your specialized theoretical background and knowledge of best practices in the field of electrical engineering technology, specifically the subfield of power systems and industrial electricity. You will apply this knowledge to resolve problems in coordination with the maintenance team such as protection coordination, interpretation of predictive maintenance results, introduction of new technology to site and circuit testing.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements of the position:
Electrical engineering technology diploma
Eight to 12 years of applicable experience in the field
A.Sc.T certification
Equivalent combination of education and work experience considered, including engineering degree with three or more years of experience
Hands on troubleshooting of industrial electrical equipment
Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
Assets:
Project management experience
Professional engineering designation
