POSITION AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Cameco's environmental affairs team within the corporate safety, health, environment, quality and regulatory relations department is focused on supporting Cameco to continually improve and communicate environmental performance. In support of these activities you will be responsible for:
Leading and/or providing senior technical expertise to projects and initiatives to optimize energy management with the goals of reducing operational cost, maximizing revenue and reducing risk to levels as low as reasonably achievable.
Provide senior support to communicate corporate environmental performance with respect to energy and greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions.
You will be an effective and strong problem solver, collaborator and communicator that is able to lead teams with multiple departments and personalities to achieve business objectives. You will have strong technical expertise, advanced skills in data compilation and analysis and will have demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.
EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
Requirements of the position:
Bachelors degree in relevant science or engineering field
10 or more years of relevant experience
Expertise in energy management, energy conservation and greenhouse gas emission reporting
Three to five years experience in the mining or nuclear industry
Knowledge of Canadian regulations governing uranium mining
Assets:
P. Eng, P.Ag, PMP, or equivalent and applicable professional designation
Advanced degree in a related field
