The Distance Education Instructor Aide will work in a learning centre environment to provide adults registered in distance education modes of post-secondary subjects with educational support. This support will include assisting students with all their learning needs; promoting a positive learning environment; monitoring a computer lab; maintaining building and equipment security; promoting distance education learning skills; promoting distance education opportunities; working as part of a team dedicated to increasing student retention and success; and other duties as assigned.
The minimal qualifications for this position are a relevant two year post-secondary diploma however applicants with a relevant University degree will be given preference; strong computer skills; recent/relevant experience in distance education; strong communication and interpersonal skills; and experience working with adults in a cross-cultural learning environment is an asset.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
