Description

Family Service Regina has an opening for a full-time Intake/Outreach Worker within our Domestic Violence Services. The role involves initiating contact with victims of family and intimate partner abuse to ensure timely and responsive support. As well, the incumbent will provide crisis and ongoing support to assigned clients, including supportive counselling, information, practical supports and advocacy.

The successful applicant will have skills to readily engage clients, to assess needs and to offer client-centred support. Must be able to work collaboratively and respectfully with a diverse client group. Ability to contribute to a solution-focused team environment is essential. The successful candidate will be adaptable in approach, well organized and proficient in time-management. The candidate will have a strong aptitude for crisis intervention, supportive counselling and advocacy work. Ability to work effectively in demanding situations is required.

Prior understanding of domestic violence and knowledge of the criminal and civil justice systems are advantageous, as are abilities for public speaking and group facilitation. Typically, these skills will have been acquired through education and experience within a human services field. Family Service Regina also recognizes the value of lived experience and informal learning. We are committed to attracting a workforce representative of our community. As such, Aboriginal and visible minority candidates are encouraged to apply and to self-identify.
