The Athabasca Denesuline Child and Family Services Inc., consisting of the Black Lake, Fond du Lac and Hatchet Lake Denesuline First Nations is currently recruiting for three positions of Family Prevention Service Worker for each of the community sub-offices and will be under the direct supervision of the Community Liason Worker within the Athabasca Child and Family Service Authority.
Qualifications:
- Degree or Diploma in Human Services Discipline programming or equivalent experience with coordinating community programs
- Computer knowledge and experience specifically in Microsoft Word programs
- Must undergo a criminal record check and child abuse background check
- Must be able to sign an Oath of Confidentiality
- Knowledge of family support and prevention programming
- Ability to develop and facilitate workshops and support groups
- Ability to assess training needs for all programs of ADCFS Inc.
Responsibilities:
- Report to CFSW Supervisor and Community Liaison Worker of ADCFS Inc.
- Mediate contentious family situations
- Implement prevention services to assist the child and family
- Facilitate access to prevention programs
- Access prevention programs for children and families at risk or in crsis
- Assist in obtaining supplementary funding on a limited basis from other sources in order to establish additional educational and recreational preventative programming for communities
